Let me start my Coaching page with this quote, “If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life.” – Abraham Maslow, 1961.
What is Nutrition Coaching?
Nutrition coaching is a form of professional guidance that helps individuals improve their eating habits and achieve specific health goals. These goals may include weight loss, muscle building, or managing chronic conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
A nutrition coach works with clients to create a personalized nutrition plan based on their individual needs and preferences. This may involve evaluating the client’s current diet, identifying areas for improvement, and setting specific goals for nutrient intake. The coach may also provide education and support to help clients make lasting changes to their diet and improve their overall health.
One key aspect of nutrition coaching is accountability. A coach can help a client stay on track with their nutrition plan by providing regular check-ins, setting achievable milestones, and offering encouragement and support along the way. This can be especially helpful for those who struggle with self-motivation or have difficulty making healthy choices on their own.
In addition to helping clients achieve their health goals, nutrition coaches can also provide a wealth of information on topics such as portion sizes, food labels, and healthy recipe ideas. They may also provide guidance on dietary supplements and other products supporting healthy eating habits.
Overall, nutrition coaching can be a valuable resource for anyone looking to make lasting improvements to their diet and overall health. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, build muscle, or manage a chronic condition, a nutrition coach can help you create a plan that works for you and provide the support and guidance you need to succeed.
Decisions are a liberating feeling, giving us the power to take control of our lives all over again. We are exploring our secret vault of emotions concealed deep within us, disclosing why we remained in our current situation until now. These courses will clarify the conditions you want to change in your life so you never forget and repeat them.
Confusing food for love is like confusing sex for love. When we binge eat, we are hurting and need to compensate ourselves, bury that hurt, and calm our unhappy frustrations. We understand that eating three pizzas will not solve our problems. But once that uncontrollable urge to eat wins, we feel horrible that we succumbed to that weak moment.
The secret to stopping self-compensating by eating is to be as far away from food as possible. Physiologically hunger pangs, amongst its other roles, is a hormone called ghrelin that influences our involuntary nervous system, and when that urge kicks in, we are doomed. The nervous system controls our brain chemistry causing severe cravings for sugars and carbohydrates. In fact, we lose complete control of what we put into our mouth, and because our fat cells have sensors connected to our nervous system, it affects our hunger cravings. Thus making us desire to eat as many carbohydrates as we can.
This horrible cycle must stop, so emergency measures are in order. Start by designing a system like a fire drill, and list your action plan when you feel a hunger craving creep up on you.
Here are some ideas; remember to list these as “reminders and reasons why you will regret eating right now,” find the motivational words that will help you control this episode and read them out to yourself.
Words and phrases you can say to yourself
This is not what I want.
I made a decision, and I want to stick to it.
I am strong, and I will not succumb.
Think of how I will feel if I eat this junk.
Stop this right now!!!
Actions you can physically take to stop eating
Go for a walk, leave your house NOW!!!
If you have a hobby like writing, reading, painting, or whatever, get busy with that also ASAP!!!
You may have a gym membership, and that is an option too.
Drink water or tea; that may be enough to curb your hunger.
